In this role you will test, troubleshoot, repair and operate UAV electronic systems, ground control stations, ground data terminals and ground support equipment, as well as support flight operations on overseas and domestic deployments and oversee maintenance performed by civilian and military customers. Working in a field environment. -  6 months/year embedded with US military in war zones. Environment: You must be able to deal with the high desert of California! Be prepared, that it will be hot, windy and dusty in the summer and cold, windy and dusty in the winter. Open aircraft hangers and flight line work is typical. Deployed it will be to US military installations (Iraq and Afghanistan) and are dependant upon the maturity of the base. Some are very rigorous. Although some deployments are living in a hotel or apartment, be prepared for it all - The most challenging  conditions during deployment for some  (or exciting depending on your view)  would be sleeping in a tent on a cot with dirt floors with 10 comrades and eating military rations. Typical deployment work schedule 84 hrs/week. (12 hrs on/12 hrs off 7 days per week) Knowledge of digital, analog and RF circuits. Ability to read and understand schematics, operate electronic test equipment, and solder to mil specs.Strong electronic theory and troubleshooting skills (component level preferred). Long hours may be required.

SCOPE OF OPERATION:

The Software Engineer for SIGINT/ISR projects is an individual contributor on assigned project(s) in the BMSD engineering organization.

MISSION:

Perform and lead software engineering tasks on SIGINT (signals intelligence) and ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) projects involving fully integrated tactical systems for military intelligence programs in remote and mobile ground station site locations.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

To achieve the mission for this position, the Staff Software Engineer must produce the following critical actions and results:

1. Software Engineering: Software development to include software plans, requirements analysis, software design, code, unit test, software integration and software qualification testing. Experience in Object-Oriented methods.

2. Subcontractor Interface: Work closely with software development subcontractors on technical issues, including defining technical requirements and monitoring technical performance. Ensure that subcontractors deliver critical capabilities to keep projects on schedule and meet customer needs. Participate in analysis of new capabilities and ongoing subcontractor evaluations.

Technologies: Java Messaging Service (JMS), Webservices (SOAP), Remote Method Invocation (RMI), Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)

Application Server development: Oracle, Weblogic, Tomcat, Sun Application server, ANT

Experience with Eclipse, Visual Studio, Rational ClearCase, Rationale ClearQwest.

Additional skills desired:

Effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams of 4 or more supporting DoD/Government programs.

Demonstrated software engineering capability in programs that encompass system architecture, requirements analysis, analytical modeling, design, production, integration, test, and transition into operations.

Citizenship, Clearance, Travel:

A Top Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance (TS/SCI) and U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate must be able to pass an extended background investigation (EBI) for this position.

HDR is in need of a Senior Federal Project Manager in our Phoenix, AZ office. This individual will be responsible for identifying, developing, procuring and managing program and project management programs for Federal Clients, primarily DHS CBP OBP. Their primary duties will include planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of program and project management projects with a high degree of technical difficulty and requiring complex interactions with a variety of local, State and Federal agencies as well as private stakeholders. They will be involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently, and must establish client relations with both our Federal clients and public and private stakeholders to stay involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings. They will also participate and in some cases facilitate work sessions for design development and contract documentation at the project sites in conjunction with appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines. Additional responsibilities will include: coordinating staff and workload through the entire project's development with the HDR Client Managers, working with accounting managers, project controllers, and the local office department manager for project reviews, implementation of QA/QC procedures, execution of training for personnel as established by strategic plans, and acting as a mentor for less experienced project managers.

Performs testing, analysis, and evaluation of high reliability space payload electronics, modules and/or systems. Analyzes results and implements procedures for problems. May develop test specifications and procedures. May prepare reports, documentation/specifications as required.
 
Knowledge of basic electronic circuit theory and basic RF theory is required. Interpretation of complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics and the necessary interfaces.
 
Works with engineering to perform complex system and module level troubleshooting to component level. Demonstrates leadership and initiative in actions. Works successfully with associates in other departments and understands cross-functional relationships.
 
Electrical test techniques. Knowledgeable use of microwave test equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters and signal generators is required. Knowledgeable use of digital test equipment such as a logic analyzer is required as well.
 
Ability to measure the following RF performance parameters is required: S-parameters, Third-Order Intercept Point, noise figure, and phase noise. Experience with set up and use of manual troubleshooting methods as well as performing fully automated software controlled testing is also required. Experience with the HP-VEE automated test software application is a plus. Applicant must be able to read, write and follow detailed work instructions and test procedures.
